When it comes to enhancing your space, one of the key components that will ensure your floor will last a lifetime is the type of material used. At Titan Garage Floors DFW, we install our floors with a Polyurea base coat, while many companies in the area choose to install Epoxy. Understanding the difference is essential when deciding which product is best suitable for your space!

Flexibility:
Concrete inevitably contracts and expands as temperature changes. Polyurea coatings are designed to be flexible and expand/contract with your concrete to prevent cracking over time. Epoxy coatings however, dry brittle in nature and cannot be bended like polyurea. Over time Epoxy coatings reveal imperfections and cracks in the floor. Polyurea is best suitable for Garage, Commercial, and Patio spaces long term, while Epoxy floors are best suitable for indoor spaces that do not endure much temperature change, or wear and tear.
Durability:
An attractive element of purchasing a chip floor is for its durability. Polyurea coatings are created to adhere to the concrete better than Epoxy is formulated, to efficiently prevent any damage from harmful chemicals, heavy weight, or driving. Epoxy surfaces tend to scratch or chip over time with daily use. Furthermore, Polyurea coatings are formulated to protect your floor from hazing or UV damage unlike Epoxy. At Titan Garage, our Polyurea coatings are formulated to last the lifetime of your home. Floors installed 7 years ago still look brand new!
